George Clooney’s Wife Amal Alamuddin Shrugs Off Celebrity Status; Still Doing ‘The Same Job’
George Clooney's wife, Amal Alamuddin, has been in the media's radar ever since she said "I do" to Hollywood's most eligible bachelor in September 2014.
Despite being constantly hounded by paparazzi and making headlines in entertainment publications, the international lawyer reportedly doesn't think she's much of a celebrity.
"I think it's wonderful celebrities would choose to spend their time or energy or the spotlight that they have to raise awareness about these cause," she recently told NBC News in an interview. "I don't really see myself in the same way because I'm still doing the same job that I used to do before. So if there's more attention paid, for whatever reason, to that, then I think that's good."
Apparently, she's rather oblivious to her fame being a boon for her human rights law practice.
She added that she thinks she's "exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work."
Nevertheless, her new status has attracted more attention to the current case she's working on, trying to free former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed.
The former politician was arrested because of reportedly false terrorism charges. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Her dedication to her job already raised some rumors about her health in recent months. She was reportedly so busy that she ended neglecting her health, leaving George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin supposedly having a hard time getting pregnant.
Celebrity Dirty Laundry even claimed that the A-list couple even considered IVF treatments just to be able to make a little George or a little Amal happen.
Although there were several rumors about her getting pregnant in the past, they were quickly debunked by Gossip Cop. It looks like George Clooney is letting Amal Alamuddin focus on this case first before starting their own family.
