New MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date Set In June? What To Expect In Addition To Retina Display?
Over the past few days, the tech sphere has been abuzz with all sorts of rumors and speculations about the new MacBook Pro 2016 release date.
The rumors hit a new high late last week after it was widely reported that the device had appeared in benchmark tests on Geekbench.
Originally uploaded to Geekbench 3.0, the benchmarks results reportedly belonged to the upcoming Skylake-based 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro 2016.
Based on the benchmarks report, the machine will be powered by the yet-to-be-released 3.3 GHz Intel Core i7-6567 processor and it will carry Intel's Iris Graphics 550.
However, the authenticity of those reports was later questioned by the website Macrumors saying that the benchmarks were "more likely [to] represent a Hackintosh." Hackintosh is a modified PC that runs Apple's OS X operating system.
Despite the uncertainty over the benchmark tests, reports on a possible release date for the upcoming device kept surfacing.
On Saturday, Bitbag reported that the Cupertino-based tech giant may have made its mind to introduce the shiny new MacBook Pro on June 13 - the day on which its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off.
Although reports cannot independently verify the authenticity of these claims, it seems highly probable that the 2016 MacBook Pro will indeed have the 6th-generation Intel Skylake processor, a powerful replacement of the 5th-generation Broadwell chips that powered MackBook 2015 models.
Because Apple had recently expanded the RAM capacity of its MackBook Pro series, it is also possible that the next MacBook will come equipped with a respectable 8GB RAM.
Rumors also suggest that the device will carry at least two USB C ports. But whether or not they will replace the USB 3.0 or the Thunderbolt ports remains a matter of speculation.
Apple will also include the Retina display to reduce the glare without compromising on the vivid color and image quality MacBook Pros are known for.
The device may also flaunt the new-generation IPS technology that will ensure a 178-degree viewing angle on the screen.
And finally, there will be the Force Touch trackpads to extend 3D touch capabilities to the MaBook Pro 2016.
