'Rick and Morty' Season 3 Update: Release Date Not Confirmed; New Game 'Pocket Mortys' To Influence Season 3 Plot?
Not long after it was announced that the hit adult animated television series "Rick and Morty" has been renewed for its third instalment, fans of the series have since been keeping an eye to its official release date.
The series was immediately renewed after the second season due to a massive increase in ratings which happened to be thrice higher compared to the first season. As noted by Nielsen, "Rick and Morty" has reigned at the number one spot within its timeslot and is extremely popular among adults and men viewers.
While there have been several spoilers spurring all over the internet about what might be in store in the upcoming "Rick and Morty" season 3, the showrunners have only dropped very limited hints and have not yet disclosed any specific details about the release.
In the official Twitter account of "Rick and Morty," the site sent in a tweet saying, "Every time we're asked when season 3 comes out we push it back a month. See you nerds in 2020."
The post immediately went viral on Twitter, but the "Rick and Morty" fans did not seem to take it too seriously, with most fans even taking their hopes up and insisted that the release is probably going to take place in 2017.

Adding to the "Rick and Morty" frenzy, fans are given the privilege to still enjoy their favorite series' characters while waiting for the release by playing the newly released game "Pocket Mortys" created by Big Pixel Studios and Adult Swim Games.
Reports claimed that "Pocket Mortys" is a Pokemon-like game app wherein players could catch, train and fight using their pocket monsters, adding that the well-loved character in the television series Rick comes into view as Ash in the gameplay.
Not long after the game has been launched, fans were quick to speculate that "Pocket Mortys" may hugely contribute on the "Rick and Morty" season 3 plotlines, with rumors claiming that the game was intentionally created to give the fans some hints about what the new season will look like.
"There was a heavy impulse in season 2 to not call anything back from season," said Don Harmon at the San Diego Comic Con.
Though there has currently been no update about the exact release date, it has been speculated that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will be out in 2017.
