'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3 Spoilers: Secret Warriors' Arrival Curbed By MCU?

Previous "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 spoilers revealed that super-powered group Secret Warriors could be arriving in the show. The speculations came after three current characters with extraordinary capabilities worked together in a mission during the mid-season finale last year.

The news certainly earned Marvel fans' interest as the Secret Warriors are among the most well-received superhero team up in the comic book universe.

But fans were cautioned by showrunner Jed Whedon as he said that they are taking it slow when it comes to Secret Warriors' integration in the show. Apparently, the main reason behind the decision is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

"When the word is put on a poster, it creates an expectation," Whedon told IGN during the winter Television Critics Association press tour party.

"We feel a duty to the Cinematic Universe to not hyper-accelerate how many people have powers, and when I say 'duty' I also mean we have a mandate to do that. We don't want it to be there's a thousand people with powers with a show that at its heart is about what it's like to not have powers in a world with powers."

Spoilers of Secret Warriors' arrival in "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 came in to light last month when executive producer Jeff Bell said that the scenes featuring inhumans like Daisy Quake, Lincoln and Joey became teammates in one mission.

Executive producer Jeff Bell said the assembly of these inhumans in "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 fall finale episode signals the start of something many Marvel fans are waiting for - the Secret Warriors.

"I would say it's certainly a warning shot over the bow," Bell told Comicbook.com when asked to confirm if the three will be the pioneer of the show's version of Secret Warriors.

He added more about the possible "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 spoilers, "They certainly came in and were helpful. It was the first time that they were put together in some kind of meaningful way, and I would say just keep looking forward to more of that as we ... I think we, as writers on the show, feel like we have to earn this group."

"Agents of SHIELD" season 3 will return on March 8.
