Family Friend Mike Huckabee Lashes At '19 Kids And Counting' Star Josh Duggar
Following the revelation of sex scandals, "19 Kids and Counting" star Josh Duggar has been facing criticisms from millions of people across the country. This time, the reality star got some blows from his long-time friend Mike Huckabee, a Republican presidential candidate.
Huckabee, who got support from the Duggar family during many of his earlier campaigns, recently called Josh Duggar an "evil." As soon as Duggar's infidelity news broke, the politician cut almost all his ties with the family, according to Inquisitr.
While Mike Huckabee noted that he felt bad for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, he maintained his stand not to utter Josh Duggar's name anywhere. During one of his campaign stops though, he was called out by a lady for supporting the "19 Kids and Counting" stars as she claimed that it is like supporting child abuse.
"Then how come you support them? You supported them on your website," asked the lady per Radar Online.
"When the Duggars came out, and their son had molested their child, you more or less said that you felt sorry for the parents. The parents let it continue for over two years," she added.
The Republican presidential candidate, who seemed disgusted of the accusation, noted that it is the media that is spoiling the reputation of a good family like the "19 Kids and Counting" stars, and more importantly the lives of two young girls. He explained that the evil deed of Josh Duggar doesn't make the entire family sinful.
"No. You know what? You've come in here to confront me, which is fine," Huckabee said, according to She Knows.
"But you cannot abuse, which is what your'e doing, the reputation of a godly family who have been through hell because a son of theirs - one of their many children - did something evil and sinful that nobody is backing up and supporting. But I would support any family who tries to work through their problems under the grace of God."
