Say Goodbye To Google Panda Updates As It Becomes Google's Core Ranking Algorithm

Search engine optimisation specialists will not have to wait for the latest Google Panda update as it has now become Google's core ranking algorithm.

For an average user, Google Panda is the search engine's most significant algorithm that was first launched in February 2011. It facilitates spam-fighting by filtering websites, Search Engine Land reported.

It was initially launched as Google Farmer and was a separate spam filter that was applied to the search results as a completely separate piece, TheSEMPost.com added.

According to Jennifer Slegg's post on Panda Guide, Google has included Panda as a part of its core ranking algorithm. This statement was further vetted by Google's PR Team.

"Panda is an algorithm that's applied to sites overall and has become one of our core ranking signals," she said in a statement. "It measures the quality of a site, which you can read more about in our guidelines. Panda allows Google to take quality into account and adjust ranking accordingly."

While Google previously released its Google Panda 4.2 update, it's expected that no other updates will follow, however, Search Engine Land reported that this may not be a permanent situation as noted by Gary Illyes.

Most SEO experts have yet to analyze the real impact of making Google Panda baked into its core ranking algorithm.

Some experts believe that Google is trying to emphasize the importance in content quality and its "thickness." Artificially inflated content that guises as actual content will be filtered by its core algorithm. Google Panda updates have especially been effective in figuring out spam content.
