Golden State Warriors Suffer Third Loss; Stephen Curry Makes Excessive Turnover In Game Vs Denver Nuggets
Reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors suffered their third defeat of the season when they fell short at the hands of the raging Denver Nuggets squad. The defending NBA champions' seven game winning streak was cut to a halt on Jan. 13.
It was a close game and the Golden State Warriors nearly won it at the closing seconds when Stephen Curry missed his game winning three-pointer with two seconds remaining on the regulation.
The MVP stacked up 38 points, dished out nine assists and grabbed five rebounds.
One interesting fact of the game was Gold State Warrior's main man Stephen Curry's excessive turnovers.
He posted eight turnovers, the last being a crucial play when he lost the ball and ended on the other side of the court for a foul and two made free throws.
Despite the absence of Draymond Green who was given a night off, other Golden State Warriors stepped up their game to cover his offensive numbers.
According to NBA.com, Andrew Bogut chipped in 15 points, three blocks and seven rebounds on a seven-of-eight shooting. Warriors' Klay Thompson added 17 points, four rebounds and dished out three assists.
As for the Denver Nuggets, Danilo Gallinari led the team with 28 points, adding another five rebounds. Will Barton added 21 points off the bench and also coming off the bench is Darrell Arthur who scored a double-double figure with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Kenneth Faried posted a somewhat subpar performance with only five points and four rebounds.
According to Inquisitr, analysts said that his low output was due to his limited game time of only 20 minutes.
The loss cost the Golden State Warriors a crucial win in order to continue its winning streak. Stephen Curry's group is still the top team in the league with a 37-3 record with a perfect 19-0 when playing on their turf.
On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets sits at the 11th place in the Western conference with a record 15-25.
