Hayden Christensen stepped away from the limelight when his fame skyrocketed after playing Anakin Skywalker who went on to become Darth Vader. So it does seem apropos that he would regain his past glory by filming "Star Wars Episode 8."

Now, rumors are circulating that Hayden Christensen is preparing to film scenes for "Star Wars Episode 8," which is scheduled for release next year.

Jason Ward of Making Star Wars website shared the rumor about Hayden Christensen's involvement in the latest Disney film.

"A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a Star Wars: Episode VIII appearance of some sort," he wrote.

Ward explained, "I have a hard time thinking they would need Christensen to train for Star Wars if he's simply a ghost. He is still physically fit. To me the rumor almost points towards some resurrection of Darth Vader story idea or perhaps a flashback? It makes it all hard to imagine."

Hayden Christensen played Anakin Skywalker in "Star Wars Episode II" in 2003 and reprised the role in 2005 for "Star Wars Episode III." After that, the Los Angeles Times reported that the actor brought a farm to escape from Hollywood.

"I guess I felt like I had this great thing in 'Star Wars' that provided all these opportunities and gave me a career, but it all kind of felt a little too handed to me," he said. "I didn't want to go through life feeling like I was just riding a wave."

The actor added, "You can't take years off and not have it affect your career. But I don't know - in a weird, sort of destructive way, there was something appealing about that to me. There was something in the back of my head that was like, 'If this time away is gonna be damaging to my career, then so be it. If I can come back afterward and claw my way back in, then maybe I'll feel like I earned it.'"

Hayden Christensen is making a comeback through the Christian movie, "90 Minutes of Heaven," but he still has to confirm the rumor that he would be playing Darth Vader in "Star Wars Episode 8."
