Speculations on Cate Blanchett playing a villain in the upcoming movie "Thor: Ragnarok" seem to be swirling around as her co-star in the movie, actor Mark Ruffalo, dished out on her character in the third instalment of Thor franchise.

During the BAFTA Awards Season Tea Party on Saturday, Jan. 9, the actor gave away some spoilers about the film.

The actor, who plays Bruce Banner or The Hulk in "Thor: Ragnarok" talked to ET Online where he said, "I'm so thrilled."

"I saw her at the Governors' banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, 'Please, please, please make this work!'" Mark Ruffalo added. "She's just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting."

While Mark Ruffalo may have leaked some movie secret, nothing is certain yet.

Accordingly, the actor may have just assumed the Australian actress' new role based on the recent reports claiming Cate Blanchett is set to join the movie cast.

A few days back, Cate Blanchett appeared in the show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," when she had jested about replacing Chris Hemsworth in the lead role of "Thor: Ragnarok."

When asked about her involvement in film, Cate Blanchett wittily said, "Yes, Chris Hemsworth is busy, so I've been working out."

Marvel has reportedly been looking for a "big name actress" including Charlize Theron, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt for the role of the "bad-ass female" in "Thor: Ragnarok." If the rumors are true, Cate Blanchett seems to have won the part.

Nonetheless, with the "Carol" actress' part still under wrap, many speculate that she will play the role of The Enchantress, who is the powerful enemy sorceress trying to seduce Thor, or Karnilla, another sorceress and enemy of Asgard, or Hela, the Norse goddess of death, according to Inverse.
