Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Gets Android Marshmallow 6 Update: Beta Version Available
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge users who had previously opted for an Android Marshmallow 6 beta program update can now download the beta version Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Samsung released its beta version to gather user response. If Samsung finds a positive response of the beta version, the company would make it widely available to all users.
Samsung is currently looking forward to working with the Android 6.0.1 version beta testers of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in South Korea and the United Kingdom, International Business Times reported.
The latest Android Marshmallow 6 update is not a major upgrade but it has certain special features that are quite commendable as being user-friendly.
It features new emojis that are nearly 200 in number and also flaunts certain performance tweaks.
Beta testers can go to Settings >> About Device >> Software Update to install the beta version, Techtimes.com instructed.
The latest Android Marshmallow 6 update for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge lends overall stability of the new OS.
Further, it also boasts of a new install overnight feature wherein the phone will install important software updates only during the sleeping hours of the user at night.
Accessibility of the Edge panels has also been further enhanced in the latest Android M 6.0.1 version update.
In Android 6.0 version, users had to navigate to sub-menus to disable or enable any panels. Now Android 6.0.1 users can do it directly by checkboxes made available. Tasks panel is more customizable than before in the new version.
Samsung has also reduced the page scrolling speed in the new beta version. This has been deliberately in order to let the processor take enough time to compute and show the remaining elements of the page.
It also eliminates problems such as lags and stutters while scrolling the page, said TechFrag.com
All these features are currently under the testing stage and may not actually surface in the final user version.
Moreover, the new beta version is also not very stable, which means the final build will take time and Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users will have to wait a little long for the actual Android Marshmallow 6 version to be installed on their devices.
