The leaked photos of "Godzilla Resurgence" could hint of the direction for the upcoming Japanese film's plot.

The leaked photos have circulated on the Internet, showing the monster's new transformation, billed to be a huge tonal shift that fans have not seen since 1954 original.

The Big Bad Ben Twitter account shared the leaked photo sof "Godzilla Resurgence" along with the caption, "Say hello to the full design of Shin Godzilla. #Godzilla resurgence!"

The images were believed to be taken at Toho Studios and their authenticity was confirmed by August Ragone, author of "Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters." Whereas fans have been used to seeing Godzilla in blackish gray or green hues, the new monster had a red and black appearance.

Whether these leaked photos will be included in the final cut or not, directors Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi still promised fans to bring the monstrous reptile back to his horror roots, according to initial plot reports of "Godzilla Resurgence."

According to Tech Times, "The Godzilla in 'Godzilla Resurgence' looks almost undead, with skeletal hands, disjointed teeth and with radiation burns all across his body."

The article said that Godzilla was "a creature birthed from mankind's use of nuclear weapons, and this time around, Godzilla's appearance perfectly matches that idea. The creature looks like a burn victim, heavily disfigured and likely very pissed off at mankind."

"Shinji Higuchi, who is directing along with Hideaki Anno, has said he intends to provide the 'most terrifying Godzilla that Japan's cutting-edge special-effects movie-making can muster,'" said Daily Mail.

"The film will also feature a hybrid of computer graphics and practical special effects. The film is being made by original series producers Toho, and is scheduled to be released on July 29," it added.

Initial plot reports claimed that in "Godzilla Resurgence," both the US and Japan will unite to fight the angry monster. But more details will certainly come out as the release date nears.
