After the shock of Joni Mitchell's brain aneurysm, the singer-songwriter has been recovering for the past few months and according to singer, Chaka Khan, she is "doing very well."

In a recent interview with The Washington Post, "Through the Fire" singer, Chaka Khan, revealed that legendary singer-songwriter's recovery from the surgery is going smoothly.

"We're good friends and she's doing very well, by the way," Khan revealed. "I want everyone to know that she's getting better and better every day."

Asked if Khan has been in touch with Mitchell, she answered: "Yeah, I'm sending stuff to her as I do it and she's loving it, so I'm happy."

Inspired by Joni Mitchell's music prowess and perhaps moved by her strength following her brain aneurysm struggles, Chaka Khan also revealed that she is doing a tribute album for her.

"She's my No. 1 artist and songwriter, and she has been for a long time," Khan said. "See, Joni Mitchell, she's actually funky, she just doesn't know it, and I'm bringing that forward. The jazz is in there."

On March 31, Mitchell was found unconscious in her home in Los Angeles due to brain aneurysm.

"She had an aneurysm, and nobody found her for a while," Joni's long-time friend and songwriting partner, David Crosby said. "And she's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury."

"I love her. She was my old lady at one point. She's probably the best of us - probably the greatest living singer-songwriter," Crosby told the Huffington Post. "We're all holding our breath and thinking a good thought, hoping that it's going to turn out okay."

Before her brain aneurysm incident, Joni Mitchell was best known for her meditative, introspective and often heartbreaking lyrics for songs such as "Both Sides, Now," "Help Me" and "Big Yellow Taxi."
