Actress Hwang Jung Eum To Marry Businessman Boyfriend Lee Young Don In February After Six Months Of Dating
South Korean actress-singer Hwang Jung Eum is tying the knot with golfer-turned-businessman Lee Young Don next month after dating for half a year. C-JeS Entertainment confirmed the upcoming marriage in a press release Thursday.
The Chosunilbo reported Friday that the couple started seeing each other last year after they were introduced by a common friend. Lee's warm heart and support to Hwang reportedly made her fall in love with him.
The 30-year-old actress revealed in December through her agency that she has been dating the professional golfer.
"It's true that Hwang Jung Eum just began a relationship with a nice man who was introduced to her by a friend," the agency confirmed, as noted by Soompi Dec. 7.
"What's for sure is that it's not at a level where marriage is being discussed and as the two of them just began a good relationship, please give them your blessings."
Yonhap News Agency forecasted Thursday that the couple will get married on Feb. 26 at Hotel Shilla in Seoul, South Korea, as per the agency.
"Hwang was moved by his steady support and trust in her busy times last year. We hope the fans will send their love and blessings their way," C-JeS Entertainment said in a dispatch.
The agency added that Hwang will still continue her acting career even after getting married.
Hwang started her career in 2001 as the lead vocalist of the now-defunct girl group Sugar. Hwang decided to leave the group in 2004 to start a new endeavour as a solo artist. She went into acting in 2004 as a recurring guest of the variety show "Love Letter."
Since then Hwang has appeared in a number of television series like "Princess Lulu," "The Last Scandal of My Life," "East of Eden, "Can You Hear My Heart," "Secret Love" and a lot more.
She was also featured in films such as "The Relation of Face, Mind and Love," "Wish," "Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp" and "My Sister, the Pig Lady."
