‘The Walking Dead’ Spoilers: Glenn To Finally Say Goodbye In Season 6? Negan Arriving Soon?
One of the biggest fears of "The Walking Dead" fans may soon come to pass: the demise of Glenn in season 6.
According to Movie Pilot, the fan-favorite "is going to get the business end of a barbed wire beating from the brutal overlord Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan)" when the zombie apocalypse series returns for its sixth season.
"The people you love, they're still part of you. Even after they're gone," says a voiceover in a recently released "The Walking Dead" trailer, which eerily sounds like the speaking voice of Glenn.
The teaser also shows Maggie (Lauren Cohan), as she screams in despair, while Rick (Andrew Lincolnand) Carl (Chandler Riggs) look in horror.
The appearance of Negan in "The Walking Dead," and the likelihood that he will be responsible for the death of Glenn in season 6, is largely based on the storyline of the graphic novel with the same title.
"...the Negan reveal has been a long time coming and ever longer anticipated, and he's not expected to show up in person for a while yet," Movie Pilot said.
Negan is among the "big bads" of the popular "The Walking Dead" graphic novels, who made his first memorable - and brutal - appearance in the "Something To Fear" story arc of the comics.
In an interview with Empire magazine (via Comic Book), "The Walking Dead" executive director Greg Nicotero described the series' remaining episodes as "relentless" and "heartbreaking," as he teased about the entry of Negan and the rumored death of Glenn in season 6.
"If you read the comic book, you know we're climbing towards a major death," he said.
Nicotero's statement confirms that "The Walking Dead" TV series is in line with events in the comics, but there are instances when the show's storyline occasionally diverts from its source material.
But based on the #100 issue of "The Walking Dead" which introduced Negan, fans know that this was followed by the issues "Hello Lucille" and "Goodbye Glenn," which may possibly become the basis of the series' season 6.
