NBC's 'Telenovela' Cast Eva Longoria Confirmed; Official Statement Released!
If you miss watching Eva Longoria on TV then you are going to miss her no more as she returns to series TV in a comedy entitled "Telenovela," according to NBC. The said series will tackle on the wild, crazy yet fun atmosphere of the cast and crew of a popular Spanish telenovela.
In NBC's "Telenovela," Eva Longoria is going to portray the role of Ana Sofia, the main character of a popular Spanish-language soap opera who hides a very odd secret that is deemed abominable to those who take telenovelas seriously: She doesn't speak a single word of Spanish.
"You're going to fall in love with Ana," the "Desperate Housewives" alum told Parade. "She's actually self‑involved in an insecure way. She doesn't mean to be. She just feels like she is not worthy enough. As you can tell, she doesn't speak Spanish. So she's always one foot in, one foot out of this culture, which is really my life story."
Not only she's going to be a part of the cast, she's also going to work on it behind the scenes as an executive producer. Ever since "Desperate Housewives" concluded in 2012, Longoria has been busy focusing on being a producer and director to shows like "Devious Maids" and Ready for Love."
"I hadn't acted in comedy for a while, so I did Brooklyn Nine-Nine to dip my toe back in the water," Longoria said. "Oh my God, those 5 a.m. call times! I'm like, 'Do I really want to go back? Oh, my God, I'm enjoying this so much.' So that was a little tough, but that's a conditioning thing."
"I was always up for Housewives at 5:30, 6 a.m., and then to not do it for three years, and have to do it again," she added.
"Telenovela," starring Eva Longoria, previewed in December but it is now on its regular time slot every Monday, 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
