'The Affair' Season 3 Update: Premiere Date Not Yet Revealed; Upcoming Season To Focus On Noah Solloway?

"The Affair" left a major cliffhanger after the season 2 finale episode. Now, fans are excited to witness season 3 to find out what's in store for the complicated lives of the characters.

Season 2 ended up with the tragic death of Scotty Lockhart, played by Colin Donnel. "The Affair" previous season finally revealed the events that took place during the night Lockhart was killed. It appears that Noah Solloway, Allison and Helen were in a way involved in it. After the haze surrounding Scotty's death was clears, it was a shock to see Noah took the blame.

According to Ecumenical News, season 3 of "The Affair" will most likely focus in Noah and Helen's relationship. The season finale episode wrapped up when Noah confessed that Scotty's death was because of him. Noah was caressing Helen's hand while driving which led to accidentally hitting Scotty. Alison, on the other hand, put the blame on herself after he pushed away Scotty straight into Noah's car after Scotty tried to rape her.

In an interview with HNGN, Joshua Jackson, who stars as Cole Lockhart, revealed that "The Affair" season 3 will revolve around the resolution of events after Scotty's tragic death. Jackson added that the upcoming installment in Showtime's drama series will probably transition into lighter moments contrary to season 2's heavy dose of lies and cheating.

"The Affair" executive producer Sarah Treem revealed that each season of the show has adopted a different tone and the upcoming season is no exemption, according to Elle Magazine.

"I think the second season is going to be darker in tone, and tighter. And the third season changes again. I will be sad if we don't get a third because I don't think it quite pays off until the third season," Treem said.

Earlier in December 2015, Showtime announced that "That Affair" was renewed for Season 3 along with "Homeland." However, the official release has not been confirmed.
