'Kamisama Hajimemashita' Manga Enters Final Arc This Month
After over 20 volumes and seemingly endless chapters, "Kamisama Hajimemashita" or "Kamisama Kiss" is finally approaching its final story arc.
The question on everyone's mind is of course, what will be the end result for Nanami and Tomoe?
Fans will have to wait only a few weeks to find out, as the "Kamisama Kiss" manga is set to begin the final story arc on Jan. 20.
According to Anime News Network, the "Kamisama Kiss" manga began running in the "Hana to Yume" magazine in 2008 and has so far yielded 23 volumes, several OVAs, and two seasons of anime. Both seasons of anime were streamed by Funimation. The company also released the first season of "Kamisama Kiss" on Blu-ray and DVD in 2014.
The latest "Kamisama Kiss" OVA was released with manga volume 23 and is the second episode that adapts the "past arc" from the manga series. The third episode will be released with the 24th manga volume on April 20, 2016.
While there's no information yet about what the final arc of "Kamisama Kiss" will entail, hopefully there will be satisfaction for the long shipped pairing of Nanami and Tomoe.
Viz Media, who is releasing the manga series in North America, describes the story of "Kamisama Hajimemashita" or "Kamisama Kiss" as follows:
"Nanami Momozono is alone and homeless after her dad skips town to evade his gambling debts and the debt collectors kick her out of her apartment. So when a man she's just saved from a dog offers her his home, she jumps at the opportunity. But it turns out that his place is a shrine, and Nanami has unwittingly taken over his job as a local deity!
Nanami has all kinds of new responsibilities she doesn't understand, dangers she's unaware of, and a cranky ex-familiar who's...actually pretty hot. What's a new-fledged godling to do?"
