2015 is winding down with the new year now a little over 24 hours away. While some of us are making plans for the future (and deciding with anime series' we'll be watching this winter), others are reflecting on the best of 2015.

In the case of the latter half of 2015, it appears that "One Punch Man" is the definite winner.

Anime News Network has revealed the final week of anime ratings for the fall 2015 anime season. "One Punch Man" wound up with the top spot, with 9 out of 12 episodes being the highest ranked series of the season.

The "One Punch Man" anime series has been somewhat of a phenomenon since it premiered in October. The episodes consistently ranked either number one or number two in ANN's fan voting system week to week, with only three episodes being ranked number two throughout the fall 2015 season.

Based on ANN's weekly anime rating polls, "One Punch Man" also appears to be the most consistent of the top five shows. Every other series in the top five experienced dips below to the third and fourth and even sixth place ranking at some point during the season. Meanwhile, week to week, fans voted "One Punch Man" as either one or two.

For those not familiar with the "One Punch Man," it was originally a manga series created by ONE online then adapted to for print by Yuusuke Murata. it is currently being licensed by Viz Media, who is also streaming the anime adaptation outside of Japan.

Viz Media describes the story of the "One Punch Man" anime as follows:

"Saitama only became a hero for fun, but after three years of "special" training, he finds that he can beat even the mightiest opponents with a single punch. Though he faces new enemies every day, it turns out being devastatingly powerful is actually kind of a bore. Can a hero be too strong?"
