Basketball fans were ecstatic about the revenge match between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors on Christmas day. The grueling game between the NBA's top teams showed who fared better between LeBron James and Steph Curry, as stated by sources.

The much anticipated grudge match between LeBron James' Cleveland Cavalier versus Steph Curry's Golden State Warriors ended with 89-83, in favor of the defending champions Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN Go.

The most interesting aspect of the rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Golden State Warriors was downplayed by the Warriors, who gave one of their most dominating defensive performances for the season, as reported by USA Today.

"Obviously that was a goal to come in, play well and get a win however we could," said reigning MVP and Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, courtesy of the source.

"At the end of the day, we're 28-1. We continue to do what we're supposed to be doing. You want to send a message...Every time you play a team that's playing well and at the top of the league, you want to show up and play well and get wins, so that's what tonight was about," he added.

"We just want to keep winning," Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut said, courtesy of USA Today. "That kind of (chatter) is, I think, for their mental psyche more than it is ours."

"Obviously (the Cavs were) trying to pump themselves up," he further stated. "There are other reasons why a guy like LeBron (James) would come out and say that (sort of thing). It isn't so much a shot at us, it's probably trying to instill confidence in his guys."

J.R. Smith commented about how badly they wanted to get the job done during the widely awaited rematch between the Cleveland Cavaliers versus the Golden State Warriors, as stated by Cleveland.

"I think it was heavy on all of our minds," J.R. Smith said. "I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to want to go out there and play well."

LeBron James was also raving about the team's performance, despite the loss against the Warriors, according to the source.

"Man, we gave ourselves a chance," James said.

"When we play like that defensively, we're going to be a very tough team to beat. Offensively, we didn't have it. No one had it," he added.
