Gaming fans and virtual-reality enthusiasts alike around the world were elated and excited to hear news that virtual reality (VR) headsets may dominate the PC gaming industry in 2016 as more and more of the tech and gaming console giants have invested in the development and release dates of their own VR headset technology, according to sources.

It was reported that the sports, live music, commerce, adult entertainment, and the gaming industry will be experiencing a paradigm shift in a revolutionary consumption as the technology of virtual reality begins to make its mark, as stated by Tech Crunch.

The world of PC gaming and multi-media will also experience this dramatic change in gaming and multi-media consumption as the VR headset technology provided by PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC/Valve Vive, are leagues ahead as they developed "true VR," which allows users or gamers a full-fledged immersive experience in games and contents that allow interaction with the world and other VR headset users around them, courtesy of the source.

As such, one of the most anticipated and biggest releases for 2016 is from the $2 billion Facebook acquired VR company Oculus Rift, whose VR headset for PC gaming will finally be available to its consumers in the next year, as reported by Biz Tek Mojo.

Moreover, smartphone manufacturer HTC with recent partner Valve, a game developer company known for its iconic game "Half-Life," have announced that its VR headset for PC gaming, named HTC Vive, will be pushed to next year, according to Engadget.

The difference between the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive is that the latter does not only have the traditional physical controllers but it can also track and monitor the users physical movement (within an area of 15 square feet) with its two physical sensors, as stated by Biz Tek Mojo.
