‘Turok Remastered’ Set For PC Launch; Gameplay Trailer Revealed!

"Turok Remastered" will be launched on the PC just this week, according to Gamespot.

"Turok: Dinosaur Hunter" was released for the Nintendo 64 and the PCs in 1997. It was one of the first shooters to have polygonal 3D rendered environments as features. It also featured 3D gameplay platforming elements. It also wanted to attempt an early version of the first-person shooting mechanics. Iguana Entertainment is the game developers of "Turok" and Acclaim published it.

Today it was announced that the remastered version of "Turok" will be launching this coming Thursday on the PC, according to Digital Trends. It will be remastered by Night Dive Studios. The founder of Night Dive Steven Kick has clarified to a game website that the remastered version of the game will be based on the PC version and not the Nintendo 64 version.

"Turok Remastered" for the PC will have a new visual engine which gives players a clearer view in the game, according to Siloconera. The game will support higher resolutions and the widescreen option. It will also have improved gameplay and level design. The overall visual effects will also be upgraded and lastly it will have Steam Achievements.

The game was originally announced last August, according to sources. Night Dive Studios has also announced that they will be remastering "Turok 2: Seeds of Evil" in the future. The developers promised that both remasters will have "enhanced graphics and other improvements."

It was also known that Night Dive Studios have previously remastered a popular PC FPS game called "System Shock." It was also announced that a full remake is now in the works and the series sequel is on its way too.

"Turok Remastered" will be launched on Dec. 17 and will be available on GOG, Steam and the Humble Store.
