Apple Live Photo Tumblr Update Released!; Will It Be The Same For The Android Version?

Tumblr is the first app to incorporate Apple's Live Photo feature into its new update.

iOS users will be able to use the feature to for their feed with a similar process as if they're uploading a photo. Once it's uploaded a Live Photo symbol will be seen at the corner as an indication that it can move. Apple's 3D Touch technology in the handset can be enabled to play it as well as to activate the sound, according to The Verge.

The microblogging website stated on a blogpost, "Now you can press really hard on Tumblr," according to MacWorld. The statement refers to the Apple's 3D Touch technology.

This feature goes well with Tumblr's environment for its popularity when it comes to GIFs posts from the users. It can be viewed even if they're not using either an iPhone 6 or 6S. When it comes to sharing it into the feed they need to look for the symbol that was described as "concentric-circle supernova icon" by the social media site, according to Tech Crunch.

Apple's Live Photo feature was reported to be only available for iOS devices and was first introduced in September. Aside from Tumblr's functionality integration, social networking site, Facebook allegedly planned to have the same one included in their app's update this year. Initially it was only available for iMessage, iCloud Photo Sharing and AirDrop, according to 9 To 5 Mac.

It will be available for the social networking and blogging site's app version 5.0 that got updated on Thursday. Along with the update, it's also compatible to have filters and only one live photo at a time can be selected otherwise it will be posted as a still image.

Both companies haven't released any official statement on whether the feature will be available on the Android platform or even on the web as user found that it was still posted as a still image.
