Lebron James' Nike contract and KIA K900 sponsorship breaks records and surprises fans!

As one of the biggest and widely known sports celebrities in the world, it's no surprise that Nike would hand out a contract to LeBron James.

Recent events this week confirmed that Nike agreed to a lifetime agreement with NBA's basketball superstar, LeBron James extending the two's relationship that went as far back as 2003 when the shoe company agreed to sign the then-high school senior for a $90 million contract that would last for seven years, according to Forbes.

In 2014, renowned shoe company, Nike, matched Under Armour's blockbuster endorsement offer to Kevin Durant to keep the Oklahoma City small forward in the Nike roster for another 10 years that cost up to $300 million that included royalties as well, as reported by the source.

Nike is one of the most dominating companies in the basketball shoe market with up to 95 percent cover over the market, according to Nba.nbcsports. That is based on the shoe company not letting its best assets slip away, such as the enormous agreements they have with the basketball legend Michael Jordan, as stated by the source.

LeBron James' most recent contract "easily surpasses" Kevin Durant's contract, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell and some estimates placed it as much as $500 million, courtesy of Forbes.

"We can confirm that we have agreed to a lifetime relationship with LeBron that provides significant value to our business, brand and shareholders," said in a statement by Nike.

"We have already built a stron LeBron business over the past 12 years, and we see the potential for this to continue to grow throughout his playing career and beyond."

Moreover, fans were surprised to find out that basketball superstar LeBron James actually drives a KIA K900, a family-sized sedan, according to Theverge.

The car manufacturer wanted to challenge the cynical fans with a series of commercial campaigns called "The Truth", which stars LeBron James replying to his fans over at Twitter about him driving the KIA K900, according to Autoblog
