Jared Leto apologized to Taylor Swift via Twitter on Dec. 8 after criticizing her music that was caught on video.
In the recording, the "Suicide Squad" actor disses her songs such as "Welcome to New York" and "Blank Space," while listening to it. The incident happened several months ago together with his Thirty Seconds to Mars bandmates in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
While the song is playing, he said, "Oh, I don't like this at all. Next," according to E! News. He then listened to "Blank Space," which he first liked but in the end he said, "F--k her. I don't give a f--k about her."
Jared Leto comments on Taylor Swift's songs made her fans cause an outrage just hours after the news was released. He made a public apology via his Twitter account saying, "The truth is I think @taylorswift13 is amazing + an incredible example of what's possible," according to People Magazine.
"If I hurt her or her fans my sincerest apologies," he continued.
Jared Leto criticized Taylor Swift's music by comparing the rhythm to Sia and Charlie XCX, which caused the "Bad Blood" singer's fans to bash him in Twitter, according to MTV.com.
Jared Leto is set to play as Joker in the upcoming movie "Suicide Squad" that will hit theatres in 2016. He and Taylor Swift was also previously photographed together in August during the MTV Video Music Awards, which he shared to his Instagram followers.
The clip was allegedly edited as it would skip scenes, making Jared Leto to talk about issues with Taylor Swift's songs rather than commenting about the process, according to Daily Mail.
Jared Leto's fans defended him after his apologetic post and respects his own opinion. Although, he made the gesture, Taylor Swift hasn't revealed any statement in response for the issue.
