Relativity Studios announced on Friday that "The Strangers 2" release date will be on Dec. 2, 2016, according to TheWrap.

The company is set to release five films next year and "The Strangers 2" release date is to follow Relativity Studios' "The Crow" production setting. Other films will be shown starting on March 25 for "The Disappointments Room," April 8 for "Before I Wake," "Kidnap" that will star Halle Berry on May 13 and the comedy "Masterminds" on September 30.

"The Stranger 2" will be the sequel to director Bryan Bertino movie hit in 2008. The plot is about a family who had gone for an outing at a park before their daughter's departure to a boarding school, only to find themselves in a predicament which involved three masked killers, according to IGN.

Three killers  - Pin Up Girl, Dollface and Man in the Mask - will torture the characters in the movie. The characters will be trying to escape from the twisted turn of events.

Relativity Studios is still waiting for the approval of their submitted reorganization plan after its bankruptcy in July. Before "The Strangers 2" release date, it was reported that Marcel Langenegger might be the movie's director along with Bryan Bertino as the scriptwriter, according to Venture Capital Post.

The company hasn't released an official statement on whether Marcel Langenegger is still set as the sequel's director or not.

The first "The Strangers" movie plot was about two young couple played by Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman who were attacked by masked culprits in their summer home. The 2008 was made with a $9 million production budget but earned $82 million from its release.

For "The Crow" fans, Relativity Studios previously made an announcement that its production will start on March but hasn't revealed any details about its release date or actors.
