American professional golfer Tiger Woods revealed he is still in bad shape after he had underwent his third microdiscectomy surgery in October. The 39-year-old golfer said Tuesday that he cannot manage to bend down with his condition, as noted by CNN Thursday.

Woods also admitted in a press conference that he is uncertain when he will be back playing.

"I have no answer for that. Neither does my surgeon or my physio," Woods says.

He continues, "I also had to reset the clock each and every day and 'OK, here we go, this is a new day and this is taken for what it is.' I listen to my surgeon, I listen to my physios, and we just take it day by day. Hopefully the day by day adds up to something positive here soon."

"There is no timetable, so that's the hardest part for me. There's really nothing I can look forward to, nothing I can build towards. Where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I walk. And I walk and I walk some more."

Woods added that he is "taking it literally day by day and week by week and time by time," as noted by ESPN Thursday.

"It's different from any of the other surgeries and procedures that I've had in the past, where, OK, you blow out your ACL, which I did, and I had ACL reconstruction, and OK, you're back in nine months. That's the timetable."

"For nerves, there are really no timetables, and therein lies the tricky part because you can come back earlier or you can come back later, it just depends on how the nerve heals and how it settles," he adds.

Despite this, the 14-time major champion said he is bullish that he can get back in the course and play.

"I'm hoping that I can get back out here and compete against these guys. I really do miss it. I miss being out here with the boys and mixing it up with them and see who can win the event."
