D.O. Goes Blonde for Debut Full Album 'BLISS'

EXO's D.O. shocked fans with platinum blonde hair in the prologue video for his first full album 'BLISS', set to release July 7.

The 30-year-old singer announced his comeback on June 9 with a relaxed summer-themed teaser showing him lounging poolside. The album drops July 7 at 6 PM KST, marking his first full-length solo release.

D.O. released his first concept photos on June 13, followed by a second set on June 16. The June 13 photos showed him letting loose at a relaxing party, displaying a playful charm with bright smiles. The album title "BLISS" means "the utmost happiness".

The blonde look represents a major departure for D.O., who has maintained a conservative image throughout his career. Unlike other K-pop idols who frequently experiment with bold concepts, D.O. has consistently avoided experimental hair colors, piercings, or tattoos. He was first spotted with blonde hair during a restaurant outing in Japan, sparking immediate speculation about a comeback.

D.O. made his solo debut in 2021 with 'Empathy', an 8-track EP featuring acoustic pop and R&B. This was followed by 'Expectation' in September 2023, his final release with SM Entertainment before establishing Company SooSoo. His third EP 'Blossom' came out in May 2024 under his new agency.

His last major release was the winter single "Snowfall at Night" in January, making 'BLISS' his first project in six months.

D.O. will kick off his "DO It!" Asia tour with shows in Seoul on July 19-20, followed by a Manila concert at Mall of Asia Arena on August 16. The tour gives fans their first chance to hear 'BLISS' tracks live.

After over a decade as EXO's main vocalist, D.O. continues building his solo identity while maintaining group activities. 'BLISS' represents his biggest solo statement yet.
