Apple Music Sonos Speakers Beta Starting On Dec.15! Unavailable For Windows Phones?
Apple Music subscribers can now play their favorite songs using Sonos speakers starting on Dec. 15.
Apple's music streaming service lets iPhone, iPod or iPad users link their saved tracks and play it through Sonos speakers.
Eddy Cue, Apple SVP of Internet Software and Services, said that "We're big fans of Sonos," according to BuzzFeed News. "We've been looking forward to this," Cue added.
Sonos speakers will be able to play songs, playlists and albums from Apple Music store's storage that can be streamed through sonos speakers after a couple of weeks, according to The Verge.
Apple Music's availability on Sonos speakers is a beta program that has the potential to reach out general consumers by 2016. Apple made an announcement back in June with regards of their collaboration with Sonos with its release date set before the year ends, which the company fulfilled.
DRM-free songs are also included to the Apple Music beta for Sonos speakers however, it requires the use of an aux cable, which removes its wireless purpose to playback songs in multiple rooms.
Despite having to connect several speakers across the rooms, Sonos has a newly introduced a fine-tuning feature called Trueplay that is capable of bringing out best sound quality in a room. Trueplay feature functions with PLAY: 1, PLAY: 3 and PLAY: 5 speakers, according to 9To5Mac.
Sonos speakers' owners can join the Apple Music beta program by subscribing to the streaming service, which offers three months free trial. Using the Sonos mobile app, users can send their songs from their Apple Music account to Sonos speakers whether it may be from an iOS device, Android, PC or Mac, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Apple Music subscribers who have family accounts, can add up to six accounts into the app to let users play their own choice of music inside their home. "Together, Apple Music and Sonos hope to transform your life at home with the power of streaming music," according to a post on Sonos Blog.
Apple is proving its effort in bringing Apple Music into the market and general consumers along with its Android version. Apple Music on Sonos speakers has similarities with the recently shutdown Beats Music, but unlike the latter, the company is speculated to have no plans on integrating the service for Windows phones.
Apple Music beta was recently launched for Android 4.3 and newer versions in replacement of Beats Music on Google's platform. Despite apple's decision not bringing the app on Windows phone, Windows desktop users can still access Apple Music songs using the iTunes web version on their computers to play it on Sonos speakers, according to 9To5Mac.
