Amazon's prototype delivery drone was introduced through a video advertisement released recently.

"Top Gear" former host Jeremy Clarkson made a video with the company featuring the Amazon delivery drone in action. "In time there will be a whole family of Amazon drones, different designs for different environments," he said, according to CNET.

These Amazon delivery drones are capable of bringing small packages to customers' home in less than half an hour, and in contrast to Amazon's previous drone, it doesn't carry the package below and instead uses its main body, according to Amazon Prime Air.

US Federal Aviation Administration doesn't permit any flying object beyond its sight according to law. Chief Executive Jeff Bezos of Amazon said in August , "What I would say is that in the scheme of things the UK regulatory agencies have been very advanced," according to Telegraph.co.uk.

"The FAA is catching up a little here in the US, but the UK has been, I'd say, a very encouraging example of good regulation," Bezos added. "I think we like what we see there."

The video represents Amazon's serious commitment in launching the delivery drones for faster service and will start as soon as they have a regulatory support.

The Prime Air delivery drones are capable of vertical takeoff and travels horizontally in delivering the package. An Amazon representative said that, it is a "part helicopter and part airplane," according to The Verge. The drone's design lets it "fly long distances efficiently and go straight up and down in a safe, agile way," the representative added.

These Amazon delivery drones can travel more than 15 miles with the speed of over 55 mph and was first announced in December 2013. The company hasn't released any statement with regards the delivery drones launching date and once effective, it can travel to rural and suburban locations, according to Tech Crunch.
