Snapchat's Story Explorer Shares Events In 'Multiple Angle;' Details And Features Revealed!

Snapchat is introducing a new feature for its users called "Story Explorer."

The new Snapchat story explorer was launched on Monday in New York City and Los Angles, will allow users to view several videos shot within a certain city in the last 24 hours. Snapchat stories that are posted in the live video section are handpicked by the company's employees that curate every video as part of the story explorer feature, sources stated.

In addition, Users can view about 10 videos with just one swipe on a certain snap and with a swipe down, a user can go back to the main feed, according to Forbes.

Sanpchat's story explorer will give users a glimpse into events like political debates, holidays, fashion shows or daily activities within the chosen vicinity with an estimated 10 to 20 million story viewers.

"The basic idea was we don't provide any depth inside Stories - you're on the red carpet then you're at a concert for a split-second," said Evan Spiegel, Snapchat's Inc. chief executive reported by Los Angeles Times.

"It was a feeling of 'show me more,' and we're fortunate that we just get so much video submitted to us that we had the ability from a content perspective to provide depth," the statement continued.

The Snapchat story explorer feature can be utilized by a single tap on the "Explore" option located at the bottom part of a snap. Users that are outside NYC and LA will be able to enjoy short live story clips in different stories "very soon," according to Mashable.

This is a proof that Snapchat is taking its lead in using mobile video for their business in order to boost the company's income. The company's sole revenue contributor is their video advertisements, which garners six billion views a day.

 Snapchat aims to reach $100 million annually and has reached $16 billion of company's value, according to Engadget.
