Samsung Unveils New Galaxy XCover 5
Samsung Electronics Co. unveiled a new smartphone with high robustness designed to meet the needs of those working outdoors or in factories on Friday.
"At Samsung, we are rapidly investing in technology that delivers efficiency and durability for field and factory-focused businesses as they become increasingly mobile," said Mark Notton, Senior Director of Mobile Product Portfolio, Samsung Electronics Europe.
Mark Notton added that the new Galaxy XCover 5 is durable in any environment; whether the device is on the factory floor or in extreme heat, snow, rain, outdoor weather -- it can hold in any setting.
The company said that the new Galaxy XCover 5 was manufactured for the field and factory and shared durability with ease for a sleek and easy-to-hold product.
Samsung added that the new smartphone was built to power the present mobile market with enhanced screen sensitivity for use with gloves and came with an easy-to-charge, useable battery for all-day efficiency.
Galaxy XCover 5 is a formidable smartphone that can survive with 1.5 meters drop and enhance shock absorber. The device also rated IP68 -- means it can be completely safe against dust, and it can spend over 30 minutes below 1m of water, Samsung said.
"The Galaxy XCover 5, featuring a single 16-megapixel rear camera, is powered by Samsung's Exynos 850 processor and offers 4 gigabytes of RAM with an internal storage of up to 64 gigabytes. The smartphone with a 5.3-inch display packs a replaceable 3,000mAh battery," said on their website.
The South Korean giant smartphone maker said that the Galaxy XCover 5 comes armed with a 16MP rear camera and 5MP front camera that provides perfect sharpness.
The smartphone also features enterprise-grade scanning right on your phone at a realizable value, "without compromising device performance."
Samsung stressed that the new Galaxy XCover 5 would be obtainable in select markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America starting this March.
