Arts Council Korea Names BTS' RM 'Arts Sponsor Of The Year'

Arts Council Korea has officially declared Kim Nam-joon, more popularly known as RM of the K-Pop boy band BTS, "arts sponsor of the year" for his continuous "art patronage."

Not only this, but the K-Pop star has also once donated 100 million won to Seoul's National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in September 2020. The money was used to republish books that have gone out of print before distributing these to schools and public libraries, according to Korea Herald. 

BTS has been making advances in the art industry recently. The K-Pop boy group recently signed up to curate the "infinite exhibition" of artist Hans Ulrich Obrist. It is a series in which the artists share conceptual instructions for the artworks. 

At the start of 2020, BTS also unveiled their international project with artworks by Tomás Saraceno, Antony Gormley, and Ann Veronica Janssens. Their artworks are installed globally, reflecting the philosophy of BTS that highlights "love and care." 

Meanwhile, BTS also recently has been named the official endorsers of SMART Communications, Inc., a Philippines-based telecom provider, joining other Korean stars including Hyun Bin, Son Ye-jin, and Park Seo-joon.

RM also recently hosted his first VLive this year, where he talked about his admiration for Ariana Grande and his fitness regime. He participated in a conversation with the ARMY where he revealed he does not listen to male rappers but listens to Ariana Grande, Oasis, and The Weeknd. 

During the VLive, the BTS singer shared he works out four to five times a week and has been consistent with this schedule for the past six months. He also maintains a diet that focuses on reducing carbs and varying his workout routine. 

The fans also asked him his K-Drama recommendations at the VLive chat. He recommended the shows "Sweet Home" and "Dear My Friends."
