Here Are Some Of The Idols Joining The Second Season Of "Miss Trot"
The highly-successful variety show "Miss Trot" is back for another season, and this time, we'll be seeing some familiar faces included in the roster.
It was in February of last year when the first season of "Miss Trot" was aired on TV Chosun to help the public become more enamored with the genre of trot. The old style of music was made popular in the 60s and 70s, and the show brought a resurgence of interest. The first season of the hit show brought 18.1 % viewership. The success of the show resulted in a spin-off, "Mr. Trot", which boasted of 27.8% viewership ratings, even beating the highly successful "Sky Castle" tv series. "Miss Trot" season 1's eventual winner, Song Ga-In, became so popular and in demand. Now the network is hoping that the second will be even more successful than its predecessors.
The audition for the show was already done and the contestants who will participate in the new season have been released to the public. They include girls within different age groups and occupations, from elementary students to even lawyers. There are also a couple of idols who made the roster.
Soompi reports that Taeha, who debuted from MOMOLAND, is one of the contestants. She was a part of the group from their debut in 2017 up until 2019, when she departed because she wanted to be able to express herself in her own voice. Another familiar face is Sorn from CLC. Although she is originally from Thailand, she expressed her love for the genre, and that's why she wanted to join the competition. Viewers should also watch out for Heo Chanmi, who has already participated in survival shows like"Produce 101" and "Mixnine." Song Ha Ye, who has previously competed in "Kpop Star," will also be in the show.
"Miss Trot 2" will start airing on December 17.
