Sm Entertainment's New Girl Group Announces Debut Date
After introducing the four real-life members of the group, SM Entertainment has finally announced the debut date for their newest girl group aespa. This will be the first group that the entertainment company will debut since 2016 (with NCT). It's also the first girl group to debut since Red Velvet in 2014.
The four members, Winter, Karina, Ningning, and Giselle, will be showing off their singing and dancing skills in their first single, entitled "Black Mamba." The song will be released on November 17th, at 6PM KST.
Aside from the individual and group photoshoots that SM released, they also showed a short video that highlights each member's charm. Aside from that, member Karina was also featured in the special performance by EXO member Kai during the virtual showcase for the Hyundai Tucson this November 1.
The two played characters that met both on the real world and the virtual world. This plays right into the concept of aespa, who will be having virtual members as well. The short clip also showed Karina's dancing skills, further exciting the fans of the group.
While many are happy that SM is finally debuting a new girl group, some are wondering if the debut may be too rushed. There are fans who think that SM is trying to rush the debut in order to divert the issue faced by Red Velvet through its member Irene.
