Big Hit Entertainment issued a statement on March 24 regarding the BTS "Map of the Soul" world tour. The tour was expected to begin in April in the San Francisco Bay Area and conclude in September in Tokyo, with stops in Europe in between.

However, the spread of COVID-19 has lead to world-wide regulations that may make it impossible for BTS to gather thousands for fans in an arena. While the shows are still officially on, Big Hit asked fans to wait for further news.

"We are closely monitoring the situations in the countries and cities that are part of our upcoming tour. With the global spread of COVID-19, in some countries and cities, the level of unpredictability is becoming higher to prepare for the shows. As a result of the current global circumstances, we anticipate having to make changes to the current tour schedule," the statement read.

The statement added: "We are making every effort to proceed with the planned performances where possible, however, details on any changes will be provided separately for each region."

BTS's album, "Map of the Soul: 7" was released just over one month ago and has already made waves around the world. With 4.1 million album sales, it is the best-selling album in South Korea, according to a report from Variety.com.

Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates on BTS's "Map of the Soul" world tour.
