Actor Charlie Sheen Makes Announcement On Today Show

In Matt Lauer's interview with Charlie Sheen, HIV rumors have finally been confirmed when the actor admitted that he was indeed diagnosed positive of the disease, according to Today. Sheen decided to be interviewed in Lauer's Today Show to end extortion attempts and smear campaigns by those who knew his condition.

Sheen said that he wants to "put a stop to this onslaught," talking about the half-truths and attacks perpetrated by those who wish to cash in on his illness and celebrity status. He admitted that he has already paid to keep some people silent, estimating as much as $10 million in total, according to The Washington Post.

Sheen linked the positive diagnosis to his drug use, because he was "depressed by the condition," he resorted to "doing a lot of drugs," and "drinking way too much," as reported by TWP. He said that he is not abusing drugs anymore, but is still into alcohol.

Despite the very public admission, there are some who didn't like the Charlie Sheen HIV news. Some of the actors exes are crying foul because he didn't tell them about his condition, according to Radar Online. Scottine Ross, an adult film star who was in a relationship with Sheen for a year and a half, was angered because the actor did not tell, even when they had unprotected sex.

Another ex-girlfriend, Bree Olson, said that she will never forgive Sheen for keeping his condition a secret, according to US Weekly. Olson, an adult film actress at the time of their relationship, already broke up with Sheen before the positive diagnosis.

Olson is also encouraging Natalie Kenly, another Sheen ex-girlfriend, to speak up about the actor's secret diagnosis. Olson and Kenly were in a relationship with Sheen at the same time, and they were referred to as his "goddesses," reports US Weekly.
