The much-awaited tandem of A-list Hallyu stars Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum is happening very soon. The new K-drama in which the two are set to share scenes with is scheduled to have its first script reading on Thursday which means filming will follow anytime from now.

Soompi reported that Song and Park along with other the cast members will finally meet for the first script reading of their TV series, Boyfriend. It is Song and Park's first time to work together.

The upcoming tvN series has also been confirmed to air on the Wednesday-Thursday timeslot starting in November. It will be helmed by Don't Dare to Dream (Jealousy Incarnate) director Park Shin Woo.

Boyfriend is about a woman who has everything in life and a young man who seems to have nothing. Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo) is a daughter of a politician and an ex-wife of an heir to a conglomerate. Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum), on the other hand, is an ordinary and innocent man who always finds happiness in his ordinary life.

A beautiful love story will bloom between the two people who seem nothing in common. However, their romance will also create chaos in both of their lives.

Boyfriend is both Song and Park's K-drama comeback after two years of hiatus in small screen. It marks Song Hye Kyo's return on television after getting married to her Descendants Of The Sun leading man Song Joong Ki. For Park Bo Gum, it is his first K-drama after his 206 hit series Love in the Moonlight.

Park has been praised by critics for portraying diverse roles in films and in television. He played a psychopathic lawyer in 2015 TV series Hello Monster, a genius board game player in Reply 1988, and a Joseon prince in Love in the Moonlight.

As for Song Hye Kyo, she has established her name as one of the top Hallyu stars across Asia after the success of her 2000 KBS drama Autumn in My Heart alongside Song Seung Heon and Won Bin. The hit show pioneered the melodramatic trend in TV series and launched what is now called the "Korean Wave." Her other notable K-dramas include All In in 2003, Full House with singer/actor Rain in 2004, That Winter, the Wind Blows in 2013, and DOTS in 2016.
