A total of 129 people were killed after multiple attacks took place on bars, restaurant, a concert hall and a stadium in Paris last Friday. BBC News reported Monday that two people have been arrested and charged with "participating in a terrorist attack" on Saturday, as per Belgian authorities.

Five other people were detained after the incident. Reports have revealed that all five were freed later on, including a certain Mohammed Abdeslam who is the brother of two alleged suspects of the attacks.

Further reports have revealed that more than 100 people were killed at the Bataclan concert hall after three gunmen reportedly opened fire with automatic arms on Friday. Authorities also said that the multiple attacks in Paris left about 200 people wounded, with 80 of them were seriously injured.

Following the brutal incident that left people from all over the world in awe, French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency. Aside from that, Hollande also mandated to close the borders of France.

Al Jazeera noted Tuesday that the French president reportedly wants the state of emergency to last three months. Speaking before the members of the French parliament on Monday, Hollande revealed his plan to meet with US President Barrack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin to "unite our forces to achieve a result that has taken too long."

The French president started his speech at the Palace of Versailles by saying, "France is at war with jihadist terrorism that threatens the whole world."

"We will defeat terrorism," Hollande adds.

On the other hand, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) reportedly claimed responsibility on the multiple attacks in Paris through statements and videos. The insurgent group also warned that any country taking part on Syria airstrikes would experience the same thing.

ISIL allegedly mentioned the United States as their specific target its role on Syria airstrikes.

Meanwhile, Hollande was given a standing ovation by politicians from all French political parties.

"We will eradicate terrorism because we are committed to freedom and the influence of France throughout the world," Hollande says.
