FOX's cancellation of Lucifer Season 4 is probably the most shocking events fans had to endure. And it's especially so frustrating since the season's finale "A Devil of My Word" ended a bit too abruptly. Just when Chloe finally knows who Lucifer really is, fans would forever wonder what happens next due to FOX's decision.

Actually, there is still a way for fans to know what happens after that cliffhanger ending; FOX is actually adding two more bonus episodes which were originally meant for release in Lucifer Season 4. But what's even more important is that, despite FOX's cancellation, there might still a way for the fourth season to become a reality.

FOX Announces 2 Bonus Episodes

Fans will still be able to learn what happens after Lucifer's revelation to Chloe as FOX will be releasing two bonus episodes of the hit series, Express reported. The episodes were originally intended for release as part of Lucifer Season 4 but, with the network's cancellation of the show, they will be aired as bonus episodes for the third season instead.

The two Lucifer bonus episodes are titled "Boo Normal" and "Once Upon a Time," Den of Geek reported. Filmed earlier this spring, they will be aired back-to-back on May 28. Based on the very interesting synopsis which is given below, the upcoming episodes might present a very different Lucifer and Chloe - it's not even certain if they still know each other.

"As Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and the team investigate the murder of a child psychiatrist, Ella (Aimee Garcia) thinks about a big childhood secret that she's been hiding. Then, after Lucifer's mom creates an alternate dimension, Lucifer now lives in a world where he not only has never met Chloe (Lauren German) but is granted the freedom of choice."

How Lucifer Season 4 Might Happen

However, fans do not believe that FOX's cancellation would end of a well-loved series. According to Digital Spy, there are still potential saviors out there that could till make Lucifer Season 4 happen.

One such potential Lucifer Season 4 savior is The CW. The network has a history of saving shows that have been discarded by other networks such as its acquisition of Supergirl from CBS in 2016 as well as Black Lightning.

Netflix has been known for reviving old shows such as Arrested Development and Gilmore Girls. In fact, there are even rumors that the network might revive the political thriller Designated Survivor. Given this track record, it's not impossible for it to acquire its rights from FOX.

Amazon Prime Video just might end up saving Lucifer Season 4. Since it already has streaming rights for the show in the UK, it is well-placed to save the series. In fact, Amazon is known as having saved the Ripper Street in 2014 after BBC canceled it.
