Outlander Season 4 lead stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan never failed their fans at the 2018 British Academy Television Awards although they did not receive an award or even a nomination. The two graced the red carpet of the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards in London.

The couple arrived in a style that made the days of their beloved Outlander fans. Balfe was clad in a black Delpozo dress with a red and blue design in a sheer overlay. The Irish actress finished her chic look with a pair of dangling earrings and a TimesUp pin. Heartthrob Heughan, on the other hand, looked dashing in his casual dark blue suit.

The gorgeous on-screen couple was praised for their fashion style. Some fans also wish that they will see Balfe and Heughan in the 2019 BAFTA but not as presenters but rather recipients of awards. During the 2018 BAFTA TV Awards, Balfe and Heughan presented an award for the BBC documentary Basquiat: Rage to Riches. The docu is about the life of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose work is currently the subject of an exhibition at the Barbican in London.

Balfe, Heughan and their show have yet to receive nominations from BAFTA TV Awards. In 2016, Balfe and Heughan were nominated for Best Actress and Best Actor respectively in the BAFTA Scotland Awards. Balfe won the award.

Over the three seasons of Outlander, they earned five Golden Globe nominations including the Best Drama Series and Best Drama Actress for Balfe. It has won several awards from the People's Choice Awards and Critics' Choice TV Awards. The series also received three nominations for the Emmys for music composition in 2015 and costumes and production design in 2016. So far, Emmy nods remain elusive for both Balfe and Heughan.

Balfe and Heughan's appearance at the recent 2018 BAFTA TV Awards is a great way to promote the upcoming season of Outlander. The series was recently renewed for two more seasons.

The cast and crew of the time-travel series are currently filming in Scotland and other locations across Europe. The production is set to wrap up later this summer. Outlander Season 4 is scheduled to premiere in November 2018.

Meanwhile, Netflix's The Crown leads the nominees for 2018 BAFTA TV Awards with seven nods. Actress Claire Foy, who played the role of Queen Elizabeth II, was nominated for Best Actress but failed to take home the award to Molly Windsor of Three Girls. Foy's co-star Vanessa Kirby (Princess Margaret), on the other hand, won the Best Supporting Actress trophy. BBC Two's Peaky Blinders won the Best Drama Series award against The Crown, dark comedy/drama The End of the F****** World, and fellow BBC Two series Line of Duty.
