Dakota Johnson 2018: 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Star Admits Undergoing Therapy After Filming 'Suspiria' 2018 Remake
The 2018 remake of Suspiria is too terrifying that even those at the recent CinemaCon were affected. In fact, its lead star, Dakota Johnson (Susie Bannion), is not safe from this as she revealed its filming took its toll on her.
Dakota Johnson revealed after the filming of Suspiria, she underwent therapy. "[Filming Suspiria], no lie, f----d me up so much that I had to go to therapy," the 28-year-old star told Elle, per Comic Book. She then described the scene where they were in an "abandoned hotel on the top of a mountain" that had 30 telephone poles on the roof." As there was "electricity pulsating through the building," everyone there was shocking each other.
Earlier, Dakota Johnson and director Luca Guadagnino revealed a terrifying clip from the Suspiria remake at the recent CinemaCon. Here, Susie Bannion is instructed by her stern teacher, Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), to do a modern dance. As she does her moves, every move she makes leaves an injury to another dancer in the studio. The effect is like a voodoo doll in another time frame.
Susie Bannion's twists and turns kill a dancer as her bones start to stick out from her skin and a yellow substance starts to flow her mouth. Dakota Johnson's character in the Suspiria remake will be training for four months. By watching the clip, the marketing and distribution Chief Bob Berney commented, "Dancing is dangerous," Deadline noted.
The 2018 Suspiria remake is absolutely terrifying that even the original star, Jessica Harper, was horrified upon seeing the movie. "The most brilliantly scary film I have ever seen," she said. She even added Luca Guadagnino's previous movie, Call Me By Your Name, will never prepare the viewers for his upcoming film.
In fact, one of the reasons the Suspiria remake becomes terrifying is because Luca Guadagnino successfully captured the horrifying mood of the original 1977 movie by Dario Argento. "Suspiria is the most remarkably precise teenage megalomaniac dream I could have had," Guadagnino told The Guardian.
Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake will be released theatrically in Italy by Videa at the Venice Film Festival in September, according to Variety. It is also set to hit theaters this fall. Other stars that will be seen in the movie other than Dakota Johnson are Tilda Swinton are Mia Goth and Chloë Grace Moretz.
