Photos Of EXO Concert Staff Member Wearing BTS Hoodie Goes Viral; Some EXO Fans Deny Being Offended By It
A couple of photos of a staff member wearing a BTS hoodie at the EXO concert in Manila immediately went viral after it was posted online. K-pop fans shared the images but contrary to a report, most members of EXO-L did not take offense of the staff member's action.
The EXO Planet #4 - The ElyXiOn concert was a huge success, but some controversy tainted it. Some fans of EXO reportedly got upset upon seeing a cameraman wearing a BTS hoodie during the EXO concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Phillippines over the weekend.
AllKPop reported that some members of EXO-L claim the cameraman's outfit is disrespectful. Others allegedly took offense when some fans called the cameraman "cute" for showing his love for BTS.
"W*f it's not cute at all. It's already very offensive how he wore BTS stuff to EXO's concert. Do you think he really did not have any clue about BTS and EXO's (rivalry) relationship?? This makes me so mad," one fan commented, according to AllKPop.
"It's not 'cute'. How do you think ARMYs would react if someone wore EXO stuff to BTS' concert? The staff members are given EXO shirts at the event. He definitely wore the BTS hoodie on purpose," another wrote.
However, many members of EXO-L denied that they got offended by the photos or the cameraman's action. In fact, many found humor out of it instead of getting angry, saying the man could also purchase EXO merchandise at the BTS concert.
"Honestly I don't find anything wrong with it. I'm not an EXO-L but he wasn't commenting or saying anything rude. He was doing his job and his choice of clothing is honestly a dumb thing to criticize," one fan wrote in a fan forum site.
Some also praised the cameraman, claiming that he might be a member of both BTS Army and EXO-L. Another fan pointed out that the "rivalry" between BTS and EXO only exists among their fans because, in reality, the members of the K-pop groups are actually friends.
10,000 fans attended the EXO's tour stop in Manila. The K-pop idols performed their smash hits like "The Eve," "Forever" and "Ko Ko Bop" from their latest album The War in front of their screaming fans. Suho, Sehun, Chanyeol, Xiumin, Baekhyun, Kai, Chen, and D.O. entertained their fans with their songs, dance moves, and some anecdotes.
Sehun revealed that he traveled to the Philippines alone for a vacation. Chanyeol, on the other hand, also visited the tropical country to get his certificate in scuba diving. The boys ended their three-hour concert with their latest single, "Power," as well as "Don't Go" and "Angel."
