We all know that April Fools' is a day for pranks and they are supposed to be funny. However, two famous personalities may have gotten on the wrong side of the coin when they pulled a prank online.

Former "Bachelor" Arie Luyendyk Jr. received criticism after he posted his April Fools' Day prank on Twitter.

Luyendyk Jr. is engaged to Lauren Burnham and on Sunday, he posted a photo of a pregnant woman on Twitter and to his Instagram Story with the caption:

"Secrets finally out, we have a bunny in the oven!"

After two hours, he took it back and said, "April Fools."

Fans didn't take it well. Most fans are upset over the prank as there are plenty of women who are suffering from infertility. Some fans also expressed that the prank is very insensitive and disrespectful to women who can't get pregnant.

After the influx of criticisms blowing up his social media accounts, the former race car driver took to his Instagram story to apologize.

"Sorry if you were offended, but we really are making a Dutch baby," he said.

He also took to his Twitter account to apologize:

"I do have sympathy for women struggling from infertility. My April Fools prank was in no payment to offend women who struggle with that. I apologize if you were effected personally by my post," the post reads.

Although the couple is still planning their wedding, the two have already expressed their excitement on starting a family of their own.

"We're both very excited about marriage and starting a family," Burnham said during his interview with PEOPLE.

Luyendyk Jr. also said that he wants to have two to four kids.

"If we get lucky, maybe we'd have twins!" he said.

The two got engaged after the Bachelor broke off his engagement to Becca Kufrin. Kufrin also recently opened up about the breakup on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 15. She said that watching the season back and seeing their relationship unfold helped her move on. She will be the new Bachelorette, which will air on May 28.
