Fans of Red Velvet living in Chicago will be extremely excited to know that their favorite South Korean girl group is all set to sail its boat to their city. Yes, the group is going to hold a showcase for all their ReVeluvs in Chicago in April.

This time, Red Velvet will first perform at the annual Korea Times Music Festival which is going to take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Then the world-famous girl group will be present at the Rosemont Theater on April 29.

Red Velvet's show in Chicago is going to be a fan-meet-style event instead of a formal concert. The five members—Joy, Wendy, Yeri, Seulgi, and Irene—will interact more casually and intimately with their fans, as reported by Billboard. This upcoming event is going to be the first solo performance from a female K-pop group in the country since APink's 2016 tour.

Here is a tweet that announces Red Velvet's upcoming performance in Chicago in this April at the Rosemont Theater.

Red Velvet's performance in North Korea

The South Korean ministry recently announced that it would send around a 160-member artistic group to North Korea for performing rare concerts there. The group, which will reportedly include about 10 celebrated K-pop singers, will visit North Korea's capital, Pyongyang from March 31 to April 3. According to The National Arts & Culture, the K-pop artists will participate in two concerts. This is what was revealed in a joint statement issued after the two Koreas met at a border village.

Some more artists to be present

The group will include 5-member K-pop group Red Velvet, Girls' Generation former member Seohyun, and local pop legends Choi Jin-Hee and Cho Yong-pil. Since 2005, Kim Jong-un-led North Korea did not welcome South Korea's artists in its territory. Since the experts believe that the relationship between the two nations is gradually developing, South Korea is giving its best to maintain a diplomatic relationship with North Korea and also a reciprocal visit after North Korea sent performers to the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics 2018.

The ministry further added that the officials would visit North Korea between March 22 and 24 to inspect the site. They want to make sure that the government is rightly accommodating the artists.
