The first full trailer for The Grinch starring Benedict Cumberbatch has landed and fans are excited to see what can happen in the movie. Illumination Entertainment, which inundated the world with Minions, takes another shot at movie success with the upcoming movie based on Dr. Seuss's story How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Will Benedict Cumberbatch as the Grinch try to ruin Christmas?

Now You See Me 3's actor will lend his voice to the protagonist Grinch who is a well-known Christmas anti-hero in the plot. The Grinch hatches a scheme with Max, his trusted canine, to spoil the Christmas celebration when the entire residents of Whoville contemplate making their annual holiday celebration successful.

The movie tells the tale of a cynical grump who is determined to steal Christmas. He encounters a highly critical mission challenged by a young girl's generous holy spirit. 

The trailer shows little details of the plot. Grinch was seen showing his ice-skating routine to Christina Aguilera's power ballad Beautiful in the trailer.

Illumination Entertainment may have plans to reveal more details of the plot in the next movie trailers.  

The creation of The Grinch was announced five years back

A directional venture of Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney, the much-awaited movie The Grinch was initially announced in February 2013. Five years back it was already announced that Illumination Entertainment was working on a 3D animated feature movie based on Dr. Seuss's storybook. Later on, they revealed that Cumberbatch would be voicing the title character.

Initially, the film was slated to be released on Friday, November 10, 2017. However, it was pushed back was to Friday, November 9, 2018.
