Taylor Swift Explains Her Disappearance in 'Delicate' Video
It seems like Taylor Swift has revealed her personal reasons on why she has chosen to live a private life and disappear from the public eye for years, especially in social media in her new music video, "Delicate".
For years, Taylor Swift has chosen to live her life privately and to keep her romantic relationship with her rumored boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. "Delicate" is Swift's fourth single for her "Reputation" music album. The song talks about her reputation for the past 18 months or so.
There's no doubt that Swift has suffered from people's comments, negative thoughts, and frustration of the fans about her past relationships. However, she has chosen to stay quiet despite all the rumors connected to her.
Despite all of the rough times, she had been through, the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer is still one of the most popular singers and performers of this generation. Recently, The Washington Post unveiled that she has won "Female Artist of the Year" at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to attend the event, as she was busy in her rehearsals, but she managed to thank her fans through a pre-taped clip.
“Hey, guys, I just wanted to say thank you so much for this award,” Swift said to the audience through a prerecorded music video, explaining she couldn’t attend because she's in rehearsals for her upcoming world tour with Camila Cabello and Charli XCX. “But in my absence and to show my gratitude, I really wanted to show you my brand-new video for my new single, ‘Delicate.’”
"Delicate" is about Swift's experiences in falling in love and being worried about it, as she knows her reputation might affect someone's feelings for her. The lyric even says, “My reputation’s never been worse, so you must like me for me.”
So it might be that the "Delicate" music video relates to why the "Bad Blood" singer has shunned the spotlight for years now. Aside from a handful of short appearances during the holidays, she has definitely chosen to live a private life. Swift has avoided the media and had no interviews to promote her latest album, “Reputation” when it was released in November.
As of now, Taylor Swift is rehearsing for her upcoming world tour.
