Former Girls' Generation Member Jessica Jung Promotes Her Fashion Label in Singapore

Hundreds of fans waited for former Girls' Generation member Jessica Jung outside a store in Singapore last Thursday, as she promoted her fashion label BLANC & ECLARE.

Jessica started to manage the business on August 6, 2014. The 26-year-old star first announced the news on her Weibo account where she said, "Finally, launching my own brand, BLANC www.blancgroup.com."

In an interview with Life, as reported Saturday on The Straits Times, Jessica admitted that her experience as a former member of the all-girl group Girls' Generation contributed to the current success of her fashion line.

"I have been working in this industry for a long time so people know my name, they know me," Jessica said. "I think it's easier for people to accept the fact that I have a brand and they know I have a brand now. Of course, that's a huge advantage."

When it came to her previous status as a K-pop idol, Jessica seemed to have moved on after separating from the eight other members.

"One learns lessons all the time. I said it before in an interview, I kind of learn to let go and understand," she said.

Despite having her own fashion label now, Jessica still wanted to pursue entertainment career while paving her way to become a solo artist.

"I've been doing it half of my life. Entertainment is definitely something I would keep pursuing. I'm not like saying 'Oh I am a designer now'. It's not like that."

"I'm going to balance things out and slowly work my way. Now that I need to be a solo artist, I'm very selective of what I do," she added.

Meanwhile, Jessica admitted that she was fond of fashion since she was young. She added that travelling was her inspiration for the designs in BLANC & ECLARE, which she described as "less is more."

Aside from the denim line, her fashion label also featured a collection of sunglasses and accessories. Jessica said that she got the inspiration from the cities she travelled, such as Shanghai and Paris.
