Despite the controversy that he's in, CNBLUE's Jung Yong-Hwa has enlisted in the military.

He will be joining the five-week boot camp in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province. According to his agency, the Kpop band member wishes to start his military service as quietly as possible.

Fans in Full Support

However, 300 fans gathered to say goodbye to him.  Prior to his military enlistment, he also shared photos for his fans sporting a buzz cut. He also said, "I will always take care of my health. I will support all my dreams and goals. I will go well so do not worry about me. Goodbye for now."

The fans were in full support of the CNBLUE's leader. The fans were seen holding banners and posters. They also said that they will wait patiently for his return.

Over 250 fans traveled to South Korea to send him off. Fans were seen getting off from buses whilst others were seen in airport taxis, which suggest that they all came from the airport.

Despite the cold and the strong winds, the fans stood outside the training center to make sure that Jung will feel their love and support. Jung had a two-day solo stage, STAY 622, at Hwajeong Gymnasium of Korea University in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul on March 2-3. This was his last fan meeting.

The Controversies

The lead singer was accused of not completing all his requirements at the Kyung Hee University but was still able to graduate. His top marks were also put under scrutiny as he is known not to have attended the mandatory interview. There were also rumors that he intentionally delayed his military service. His case was then sent to prosecution.

Jung denied the allegations and said that he wasn't aware of the entrance process of the university. He also said that he didn't delay his mandatory military service.

Jung will be discharged on December 4, 2019.
