Netflix's murder-mystery show The Sinner garnered a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And now, fans are anticipating the return of the series.

The series is based on the German novel of the same name by author Petra Hammersfahr.

Jessica Biel plays the protagonist, Cora who is a young mom who kills a stranger in public without knowing why. Each episode will keep you hooked as Cora starts to remember her horrific past and why she killed.

High Hopes

The Sinner Season 2 hasn't been confirmed yet. Although the novel that the Netflix series is based on is a close-ended one, showrunner Derek Simonds and Biel are open to the possibility of a second season.

"There's certainly a lot of interest and excitement about a Season 2. I think USA's [network] has been very happy with the show," Simonds told Indiewire. He continued, "The Sinner is a standalone story, so for the series to return, the show would have to come up with a brand new story from scratch."

Biel, who is also behind the scenes of the series has addresses Season 2 rumors. She said that they are just waiting for the decision if they can return.

The Sinner was nominated for two awards at the Golden Globes, including Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television and Best television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Although it didn't win, the show has come far to have reached that level - and a Golden Globes nominations at that!

Jessica Biel's Return

Fans are also eager to know, should a Season 2 gets approved, will Biel return? Initially, she only signed on for one season but she's open to the idea.

For now, Biel and hubby Justin Timberlake are busy with their little family. They have a 3-year-old son, Silas Randall.
