Microsoft Unveils New Devices Powered By Windows 10

Windows 10 Update has been launched yesterday for the PC and tablets worldwide, according to CBC News.

The Windows 10 operating system has been deemed a worthy successor to its successful predecessor, which was Windows 7, according to some IT professionals in the field. It has successfully integrated what made Window 7 easy to navigate and what made Windows 8 fresh-looking. There were no major updates for the new operating system for a while until now.

Now that Windows 10 has a major update, it has become more stable and has added new features. The Cortana virtual assistant has finally arrived in Canada and in English only, according to sources.

"We're just calling it the November update," said Yusuf Mehdi, executive vice president of Microsoft's Windows and devices group. "We're signaling that we're moving away from that service pack idea -- but in truth it is every bit a service pack."

The new update will also make the operating system boot 30 percent faster than its predecessor, Windows 7. The Edge browser will have a Chrome-like feature which lets the owners sync their favorite items across all Windows 10 gadgets, according to CNN.

The major Windows 10 update also has several hidden features that make it more convenient for the PC owner, according to The Verge. An owner can find his or her device through a feature of the new update. The laptop or PC should be linked to the Microsoft Account first.

Another feature also lets Cortana reply to texts and other notifications. It lets users reply missed calls with text messages.

In addition, Windows 10 now has the ability to set time zones automatically, even if an owner of the device travels to another country. Another feature is that Microsoft Edge lets an owner sync passwords and favorites easily. All of these hidden features can easily be modified through the settings.
